Deepen your understanding of Autism and Learning Disabilities and how to support people in the workplace to thrive and succeed.
This CPD accredited training is offered by an established Supported Employment provider with extensive real world experience supporting autistic people and adults with learning disabilities into paid, sustainable, and meaningful employment.
Delivered by an experienced trainer with lived experience, offering genuine insight into the realities, strengths, barriers, and misunderstandings that can arise in the workplace.
Delivered online, the session is designed to be interactive, with opportunities to take part in activities, ask questions, and most importantly reflect at the end on how to take the learning forward.
Participants will gain an understanding of what autism is, including:
• how autistic people experience the world
• communication styles
• strengths autistic people may bring to your workplace
• Practical ways to support autistic employees to succeed
We will also look at what a learning disability is, including:
· Challenging assumptions and misconceptions about intelligence and capability
· Recognising and reducing unconscious bias
· Best practice approaches to communication
· Practical tips for supporting people in the workplace and training colleagues on the job
