Breakfast with the Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC)

Somerset Chamber is delighted to be hosting the Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), Shevaun Haviland CBE, for a two-day visit to the county in October.
 
As well as touring some of the county’s leading businesses and exciting new projects, Shevaun will be the guest speaker at an exclusive members-only networking business breakfast at The Shrubbery Hotel, Ilminster, on Friday, October 24.
 
It will be the perfect opportunity to hear directly from Shevaun about the work of the British Chambers of Commerce and how they support Somerset Chamber’s own members. We'll also hear a keynote speech from Shevaun regarding the key chamber policy areas and updates ahead of the budget to be delivered by the Chancellor on November 26.
 
Shevaun was appointed as Director General of BCC in March 2021, joining from the Cabinet Office where she ran the Business Partnerships team. 
Prior to joining central Government, Shevaun had an extensive private sector career and was at the forefront of digital innovation through her work as the Founding Director of the Academy of Digital Business Leaders and as a Director at Independents United.
 
Earlier this year, she was awarded a CBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List for 2025 for services to business.
